HEALTH SPENDING RISES IN WORCESTERSHIRE‏

Spending on the NHS is set to rise in the next financial year.  That is the unequivocal guarantee of Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff after reports in the local media that there would be £40 million in cuts. 

PRIME MINISTER WILL CONSIDER ENGINEERING INSPIRATION IDEAS

In the Commons yesterday (Wednesday) the Prime Minister undertook to look at proposals from Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff to inspire more young people to take up careers in engineering, science and technology. 

MP’S SURVEY ON SAME SEX MARRIAGE SHOWS STRONG SUPPORT AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE

Back in October Peter Luff, MP for Mid Worcestershire, launched his first ever online survey on the controversial issue of same sex marriage. The survey closed at the end of November with two hundred and thirty people taking part in the survey that asked participants for their views on whether the Government should bring in new legislation to allow same sex couples to get married.  

MPs SUPPORT CHARITY’S CALL TO GIVE DOGS A ‘PAW-FECT’ CHRISTMAS

 On Tuesday 4th December, Peter Luff was one of the animal-loving MPs who attended an event in Westminster organised by Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, to raise awareness of its annual Christmas campaign. Peter’s Mid Worcestershire constituency includes the Dogs Trust rehoming centre at Wickhamford. 

GOVERNMENT BOOST FOR POST OFFICES WELCOMED

 Peter Luff, the MP for Mid Worcestershire, has welcomed the announcement by the Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin, that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has awarded a new seven year contract to the Post Office to provide DVLA’s services through the post office network.
