MPs SUPPORT CHARITY’S CALL TO GIVE DOGS A ‘PAW-FECT’ CHRISTMAS

 On Tuesday 4th December, Peter Luff was one of the animal-loving MPs who attended an event in Westminster organised by Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, to raise awareness of its annual Christmas campaign. Peter’s Mid Worcestershire constituency includes the Dogs Trust rehoming centre at Wickhamford. 

GOVERNMENT BOOST FOR POST OFFICES WELCOMED

 Peter Luff, the MP for Mid Worcestershire, has welcomed the announcement by the Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin, that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has awarded a new seven year contract to the Post Office to provide DVLA’s services through the post office network.

Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff, who is also Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology, was on his home patch at Throckmorton on Thursday.  He was receiving on behalf of MoD the first of a batch of new equipment designed to monitor the mechanical health of armoured vehicles from the contractor, General Dynamics.

LUFF MAKES SURE LEFTIES WON’T BE LEFT OUT IN THE CLASSROOM

Another battle has been won in Peter Luff’s long campaign for left-handed rights.  That was the reaction of the Mid Worcestershire MP to the news that the Government’s new National Curriculum for primary and first schools will ensure left-handed pupils receive specific teaching to meet their needs.

DOUBLE GOOD NEWS FOR LOCAL ARMED SERVICE FAMILIES

At a meeting with Wychavon councillors on Friday, Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff congratulated the council on its plans to provide new homes in the county for former members of the armed forces and for injured servicemen. Earlier in the week he had also welcomed news of increased funding for armed services accommodation in the Budget.
